Mara Kluhs
MARA KLUHS studied classical and contemporary stage dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, graduating with distinction in 2017. Before that, she received her training at the Studio an der Wien and graduated with equal stage maturity for modern and contemporary dance.
She has been working as a freelance artist since 2012 and has had various appearances and engagements as a dancer, including at the Vienna Burgtheater in In 80 Tagen um die Welt, at the Vienna State Opera in Madame Butterfly, at the Vienna Volksoper in Hoffmanns Erzählungen, Die Zauberflöte and Die Csàrdàsfürstin, at the Vienna Musikverein in Der Schneemann and at the Theater an der Wien in La Donna De Lago.
As a choreographer, she has worked on productions including the musical Pippi Longstocking, which premiered at the Wiener Stadthalle in 2023, various productions at the Sommertheater Mödling (G'schichten aus dem Wienerwald, Tatort Mödling 1111, Jedermann und der Unfisch) and the children's musical The Wizard of Oz. She was also a long-standing member of the independent dance theater company Unicorn Art, with which she performed the full-length pieces Dunkelgold, Hiraeth, Moira and Mirage throughout the German-speaking world.
Since fall 2019, Mara has been running the dance studio DieTanzerei alongside her artistic work and is a board member of the Austrian Dance Studio Association.
