Ejnar Čolak
EJNAR ČOLAK (baritone) was born in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1997. His musical career began at the Music Academy in Zenica, where he honed his skills in accordion and music theory from 2012 to 2016. Following his passion, he completed higher education at the Sarajevo Music Academy, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in singing under the guidance of Prof. Mrs. Adema Pljevljak-Krehić.
In addition, Čolak took part in an Erasmus exchange in Vigo, Spain, in 2018-2019, where he studied under the guidance of Prof. Teresa Novoa.
He continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and graduated in voice under the guidance of Univ.-Prof.in M.Mus. Laura Aikin in June 2024.
During his studies, he sang the role of Masetto in W.A. Mozart's "Don Giovanni" at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater in 2021 and in 2024 he will sing the roles of Leporello in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and the Father in Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel". He has also studied numerous opera roles, such as the title role in "Don Giovanni", Il Conte in "Le nozze di Figaro", Belcore in "L'elisir d'amore", Papageno in "Die Zauberflöte" and Escamillo in "Carmen".
He is one of the winners of the 33rd International Singing Competition of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera.
He will take part in the final rounds of the 42nd International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Jūrmala in June.
In addition to his operatic successes, Čolak leads an active concert life. His passion for music is complemented by his commitment to the community. He has already taken part in over 80 concerts in retirement homes. He has also been a scholarship holder of the "Home Suisse - Madeleine de Blaireville" for 4 years.
