How can I get here?

The Upper Belvedere (Prinz Eugen-Strasse 27, 1030 Vienna) is easily accessible by public transport. The following stations are in the immediate vicinity:

- “Schloss Belvedere” station (Tram D)
- “Quartier Belvedere" station (Tram 18, O, S-Bahn, regional train

The Upper Belvedere is also a 15-minute walk from Vienna Central Station (Südtiroler Platz)

DO OUR PERFORMANCES TAKE PLACE REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER?
The Vienna Opera Summer is an open-air event and will take place even if it rains - unless there are extreme weather conditions which prevents the performance from taking place.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT GETS CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER?
If an event gets cancelled due to bad weather, you will be informed immediately by e-mail. Tickets that have already been booked can be rebooked to an alternative date free of charge. If a rebooking is not possible, you will receive your money back. There are special rules for tickets to the premiere on 1st July 2024 - see below (Ticket Refund policy)
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
There is no particular dress code for the Vienna Opera Summer. Please note, however, that temperatures in the evening may be significantly lower than the daytime highs and that wind or rain is to be expected, depending on the forecast. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Are there catering facilities on the event site?
Several food trucks provide drinks and food. The extensive selection offers something for every taste, from savory to sweets.

TICKETS

Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online at opernsommer.at, at oeticket.com and at all oeticket advance booking offices. At opernsommer.at there are no additional fees. Please note that the fees vary depending on the booking platform and affect the ticket price to be paid.
OPERA TICKETS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
For all other performances, please observe the minimum age of five years.
ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNTS?
On the website opernsommer.at you can purchase discounted tickets for pupils, students, trainees (in apprenticeship) and people with disabilities (only with valid ID on site). Pupils and students receive a 30% discount, people with disabilities 50% discount on the regular rates. Discounted tickets are only available in categories B, C and D.
How do I receive my tickets after purchasing them online?
After payment, you can download the tickets directly as a PDF. The tickets will also be sent to you by e-mail.
WHAT CAN I DO IF I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE TICKETS BY E-MAIL?

Please check your e-mail inbox and spam folder after ordering. In addition, you can register yourself under "Lost tickets" to request a new download link to the tickets.

What payment options are available?
You can pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or by instant bank transfer. It is also possible to use valid ATM cash cards with a credit card function. Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are also available as additional payment options.
Can I rebook or cancel my tickets?
Rebooking and cancellations are not possible. Your booking is irrevokable. Please alsways check that you have selected the correct performance date before finalizing your order.

WEATHER

Weather conditions for open-air performances
The Vienna Opera Summer in front of the baroque scenery of the Belvedere Palace offers opera performances outdoors. The events take place regardless of the weather - even if it rains. We advise our visitors to be prepared for all weather conditions: Please wear weatherproof and warm clothing as well as sturdy footwear, especially if the weather forecast calls for rain or cool temperatures.
GUIDELINES FOR WEATHER-AFFECTED CHANGES
A possible decision to cancel a performance will be made by the festival management before the start. It is also possible that the start of the performance gets delayed or that a performance needs to get interrupted due to extreme weather conditions. These decisions are always at the discretion of the festival management and are made for your own safety.

Ticket refund policy

If a performance gets cancelled within the first 45 minutes of the opera, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Please follow the steps below for a hassle-free refund:
Return of tickets
If you purchased your tickets from an advance booking office you can return your tickets only at the same advance booking office where you have purchased them. Tickets purchased ONLINE will be automatically refunded according to the following conditions.
Conditions of the refund
The ONLINE refund includes the full ticket price minus any shipping charges or other fees incurred at the time of purchase. Please note that for organizational reasons, refunds cannot be made at the box office or a ticket office. We regret any inconvenience caused by a performance cancellation and thank you for your understanding. TICKETS FOR THE PREMIERE ON 1ST JULY 2024 In the event of a weather-related cancellation, tickets for the premiere become can be used to attend the replacement performance on 3rd July 2024 but cannot be refunded.
PREMIERE tickets for July 01
Premiere tickets remain valid for the alternative date on July 3rd in the event of weather-related cancelation and will not be refunded.

Indulge yourself with a variety of culinary delights and drinks offered by carefully selected food trucks. Whether before the performance from 18:00 to 20:00 or during the interval - discover different worlds of taste that fit perfectly into the atmospheric setting of a summer night.
